Soup of the day is great and most of the pastries in the cabinet are pretty good. Tea and fry up is solid. But DO NOT ORDER the chai latte!!! It is absolutely terrible, so severely overly sweet it was ridiculous. About 4 times as sweet as a Starbucks drink, which is already too sweet.
Great spot, fair prices, good picks on the menu but avoid drinks other than tea if you can! I repeat: AVOID CHAI!

El personal y el ambiente muy bien… la ubicacion es ideal. Estaba la cafetera rota, pedi un te por 4£ que me parecio un poquito exagerado

Un indispensable d’Édimbourg ! Le petit déjeuner traditionnel Écossais est copieux et excellent, les produits sont de qualité ! Mention spécial pour le Haggis, nous n’avons pas été déçus de la découverte.
Le service est très agréable et les prix sont très corrects.

Had pancakes, soup of the day and ham&cheese sandwich, all tasted good. coffee was also good. Plenty of seats, It gets busy and loud during lunch. We stayed until close so managed to take a pic without people in it then.

As lovely as the staff and atmosphere were, the food was not good. The pancakes I got were slimy and the cream was sour. Definitely not a caramelised banana on top. Perhaps just a bad day for them? Usually don’t leave reviews for food places but the taste of the cream and soggy pancakes still haunts me to this day.

Great spot with a delicious Scottish breakfast and a great atmosphere with a story to it. The staff were lovely and attentive. I also got the cheese and chive scone with onion chutney and cream cheese, which was delicious. The traditional Scottish shortbread was so good and paired wonderfully with my cappuccino. Highly recommend this cafe.

We happened upon it almost by chance during our stay in Edinburgh but we were very happy with it! We had a very good lunch, the value for money is really good and the staff very friendly!

It was a very pleasant breakfast, I ordered a scrambled egg roll and to my surprise it came with a fluffy bread (I imagined a baguette), the scrambled eggs were perfect! The carrot cake was also great.

Their scones really are pretty decent. Crust was crunchy, and centre was less dry than most (although still abit dry)
The big breakfast was very underwhelming though. Every protein component was not good
